TOWN PLANNING DEPARTMENT 4 POSTS

The following Vacancies have arisen within the City of Bulawayo:

PRINCIPAL TOWN PLANNER (SPATIAL PLANNING SECTION) - GRADE 12 (1 POST)
1. Main Responsibilities/ Job Summary
  1. Heads the operations of one of the spatial Planning Sections.
  2. Prepares statutory plans (Master Plans, Local Development Plans and layout plans).
  3. Manages Traffic and Transportation Planning.
  4. Formulates policies and by-laws to enhance land delivery, development control, traffic and transportation planning.
  5. Prepares prohibition and enforcement orders.
  6. Attends to public inquiries on planning matters.
  7. Prepares and Coordinates preparation of reports for Assistant Director of Town Planning.
  8. Prepares tender documents and adjudication.
2. Qualifications Requirements
  1. A recognized University Degree in Urban Planning.
  2. Must be a member of the Zimbabwe Institute of Regional and Urban Planners (ZIRUP).
  3. A clean class 4 drivers’ licence.
3. Experience and skills
  1. At least 5 year’s experience in a similar environment.
  2. Computer literacy will be an added advantage.

DRAUGHTSMAN - GRADE 7 (1 POST)

1. Main Responsibilities/ Job Summary
  1. Runs the Spatial Planning/Survey section drawing office and supervises subordinates.
  2. Maintains and updates plans filed in the Spatial Planning/Survey section drawing office.
  3. Books appointments for land survey services.
  4. Draughts new general plans, topographic plans and diagrams.
  5. Receives and issues drawing office stock.
2. Qualifications Requirements
  1. A Diploma in Draughting and Design Technology.
3.Experience and skills
  1. At least 2 year experience in a similar environment

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 1 (ESTATES) GRADE 7 (2 POSTS)

1. Main Responsibilities/ Job Summary
  1. Compiles report for site inspections.
  2. Follows up clients on due payments.
  3. Attends to general queries on land alienation.
  4. Processes correspondence on land alienation.
  5. Updates the asset register for Council leased/sold nonresidential properties.
  6. Drafts Agreements of Sale/Lease for signing by the Lessees.
2. Qualifications Requirements
  1. A Diploma in Real Estate Management/ Property Management/ Local Government/ Business Administration or equivalent
  2. A Clean Class 4 driver’s licence
3. Experience and skills
  1. At least 2 years' experience in a similar environment
