The following Vacancies have arisen within the City of Bulawayo:

JOURNEYMAN WELDER- GRADE 6
1. Main Responsibilities/ Job Summary
  1. Performs welding works
  2. Plans and supervises welding works and team members
  3. VConducts onsite welding activities.
2. Qualifications Requirements
  1. A class 2 Journeyman certificate in the trade of welding.
  2. A clean class 4 drivers’ licence
3. Experience
  1. At least 2 years’ experience in a similar work environment.

JOURNEYMAN PLUMBER- GRADE 6

1. Main Responsibilities/ Job Summary
  1. Maintains plumbing and drain laying works.
  2. Plans and supervises plumbing works and team members.
  3. Constructs plumbing works.
2. Qualifications Requirements
  1. A class 2 Journeyman certificate in the trade of Plumbing.
  2. A clean class 4 drivers’ licence.
3. Experience
  1. At least 2 years’ experience in a similar environment.

RECREATION LEADER - GRADE 5

1. Main Responsibilities/ Job Summary
  1. Plans and implements daily recreation/youth activities.
  2. Markets and advertises the youth activities to the community through awareness campaigns.
  3. Registers youth activities, receives and receipts youth subscriptions as and when applicable.
  4. Identifies, nurtures and promotes talent.
  5. Monitors and evaluates youth recreation activities.
3. Experience
  1. At least 2 year’ experience in a similar environment.

LIBRARIAN - GRADE 5 (3 POSTS)

1. Main Responsibilities/ Job Summary
  1. Registers new clients, captures and updates patrons’ records.
  2. Maintains shelving/housekeeping according to library standards.
  3. Maintains efficient circulation system.
  4. Guides readers to locate information relevant to their needs.
2. Qualifications Requirements
  1. 5 ‘O’ level passes including English Language at Grade C or better.
  2. A National Certificate in Library and Information Science or equivalent.
3. Experience
  1. At least 2 years’ experience in library environment

SENIOR SOCIAL WORK ASSISTANT 1 GRADE 5 (3 POSTS)

1. Main Responsibilities/ Job Summary
  1. Records clients’ information.
  2. MMakes appointments for clients that require the Social Worker’s attention.
  3. Maintains efficient circulation system.
  4. Collects and compiles information from clients such as demographics, contact information.
  5. Files office documents.
  6. Updates statistics/allotment cards
  7. Registers social safety nets beneficiaries.
2. Qualifications Requirements
  1. 5 O’ level passes including English language
  2. A Certificate in Social Work or equivalent.
3. Experience
  1. At least 2 years’ experience in a similar environment.

SCHOOL CLERK - GRADE 4 (2 POSTS)

1. Main Responsibilities/ Job Summary
  1. Types examination papers and other correspondences.
  2. Receives and directs telephone calls and clients to relevant offices.
  3. Receives and dispatches all procured stock items.
  4. Collects and compiles information from clients such as demographics, contact information.
  5. Captures enrolled learners in the admission register.
  6. Files and retrieves documents.
  7. Updates and balances stock register.
2. Qualifications Requirements
  1. 5 ‘O’ Levels including English Language and Maths /Accounts.
  2. Certificate in Secretarial Studies or equivalent.
3. Experience
  1. At least 1 year experience in a similar work environment.

SCHOOL CLERK - GRADE 4 (2 POSTS)

1. Main Responsibilities/ Job Summary
  1. Types examination papers and other correspondences.
  2. Receives and directs telephone calls and clients to relevant offices.
